BAFTA Events
The Academy holds approximately four events per month, ranging from major industry debates to pre-release screenings of film and TV productions, followed by discussions with cast and crew members. In addition, we hold a series of practical workshops, debates, networking events and workshops for children.
Our events provide a high profile and independent platform for debate, and are open to members and non-members of BAFTA. We celebrate excellence across television, film and games and our events truly reflect this.
Annually, we hold the David Lean Lecture , last presented in October 2007 by esteemed Director David Lynch , and given in the past by such film luminaries as Oliver Stone, Ken Loach, John Boorman, Robert Altman and Sydney Pollack.
The Annual Lecture, focusing on a leading figure in British television, was last given by Colin Callender in October 2006. Past lecturers have included Paul Abbott, Lorrainne Heggessey, Kevin Lygo and Alan Yentob.
