David Lean room
This large, airy space on the first floor is ideal for conferences, dinners and banquets. It caters for 216 seated, with its own private foyer bar and is configured to accommodate a stage within the room's planning.
Named to honour the great British filmmaker who was also the Academy's first chairman, the David Lean Room and adjacent Foyer Bar provide 5,000 square feet of exhibition space with natural daylight and impressive views of Piccadilly, St James' Church and historic Jermyn Street.
Its facilities, which can accommodate up to 204 guests seated, include digital projection from a Barco SLMR 12 Executive which accepts: all video sources in Composite, S-VHS, Component or RGB formats or serial digital format; all currently proposed HDTV (high-definition TV) with extended and improved television standards; is compatible with most PC and Mac formats; and computers and electronic workstations with a resolution of up to 1600x1200 pixels.
Air conditioning, remote controlled lighting, wall-mounted plasma screens, a public address system and a complete under-floor grid of electrical and audio outlets also feature.
