Kirin Ichiban's relationship with the Academy continues to develop as it hosts an exciting series of short-film screenings.
Official Partner of the Academy, Kirin Ichiban hosted a series of outdoor late night screenings in association with BAFTA in late July and August as part of the National Theatre's Watch This Space festival of free live events.
A contemporary selection of BAFTA nominated and award-winning short films and animation were projected onto the iconic flytower in one hour slots over eight evenings across four weekends.
BAFTA / Marc HobermanWith Kirin's support, the large open air space was transformed into a riverside cinema, celebrating some of the world's best short films with titles such as Toby Macdonald and Luke Morris' Heavy Metal Drummer and Lynne Ramsay's Gasman. A selection of contemporary animation included The Pierce Sisters from Aardman Animations as well as Rabbit from animator Run Wrake. All screenings are free to the public.
