"Chop Socky Chooks Shortlisted for BAFTA" were the words from Yinka at Cartoon Network that led to a flurry of communication around the world. Well certainly after a few deep breaths and heart rate calming procedures.
It was a serious case of OMG! and I searched everywhere for a BAFTA Nomination emoticon but the best I could find was a scary face with hands hiding the mouth, a little too Edvard Munch for my liking!
First to tell was Sergio Delfino, the creator and director who dedicated many hard years to this fantastic production. He is film-making in Australia now, but yelps of joy echoed around the planet when I told him! Either that or he fell of his surf board...
Next were the crew and it was great seeing Facebook statuses updated followed by notes of congratulations appearing on everyone's profiles. Production is truly a collaborative art form and recognition like this instantly brings back the wonderful moments.
Fortunately it was also Wallace and Gromit's 20th birthday this week and a spare bottle of champagne was snuck off with to toast those unknown Academy selectors - they obviously have great taste. Thank you to whomever you are!

"What a talented blogger. I bet Steven Spielberg couldn't blog this well. He can't make movies any where near as cool as yours either. Ben Lock for the Oscars!!"
